Network Marketing Leads – The MLM Marketing Magnet?

Today, I’d like to chime in about “duds” in the Network Marketing industry.

Many network marketers bring up the dreaded concern regarding “duds.” What is a “dud” when used in the context of Network Marketing? Quite simply, and my intent is not to offend, it is the tire-kicking or “want to live off of free lunches” crowd that 99% of the time end up wasting your time and their time by joining your opportunity. This is essentially dead weight that’s just going to sit around expecting you do all of their business building for them and are absolutely and positively the worse kind of network marketing leads you can bring into your organization.

When they come to the conclusion that this is not going to happen, they end up leaving with the attitude that “Network Marketing sucks! It’s nothing but a rip off …,” ad nauseam infinitum. TANSTAAFL! Stop feeling sorry for yourselves, put in the hard work in a legitimate opportunity, and reap the rewards of your hard work!

This is not cool because everyone involved from the upline to the disgruntled distributor ends up on the losing end with wasted time and money under their respective belts, and it makes it that much harder to break through this stigma when it comes to building true rock solid residual incomes since sadly most people, including those who have what it takes to succeed in Network Marketing, tend to be swayed by all the negativity thereby costing you those potentially six-figure earners in your organization.

With that said I am of the mindset that when one goes about seeking potential partners for their Network Marketing businesses, that the search for your potential new downline distributors be handled in the same manner as any conventional employer handles the conventional hiring process. In other words, if you’re qualified, motivated, and committed to improving your life, you’re in!

So, Let’s Focus on Qualified Network Marketing Leads Only!

Make sure that your marketing communications convey the following premise to your advertising and promotion audience, though not necessarily in this wording as it should be written as to what works best for you and tailored for your opportunity:

Growing <nutritional, telecomm, environmental, etc.> company seeks aggressive motivated self-starters in <location> to spearhead area rollout. Excellent earnings potential for go-getters. <name, phone, website, etc.>

Note: Run for the hills from MLM’s that do not allow you to advertise and promote your business in the ways that I have described in this article! There are plenty of excellent ones out there that do. You’re running a business, not working for someone else and as such you have every right to go after qualified network marketing leads that build residual income, not destroy it!

Basically what this does is help you weed out the potential “duds” (or potential dead weight as I see it) that we’re all concerned about. Again, it is not my intent to offend, but the unfortunate truth is that the majority of individuals are “MLM junkies” for lack of a better term. That is, they jump from opportunity to opportunity on the premise that it’s some kind of “magic bullet” with free entry that will do everything for them; like that online mlm company in America’s breadbasket that starts with the letter S and ends with the letter I.

I’m sorry to be blunt, but 7 million+ distributors doesn’t mean squat and are totally utterly worthless from a business-building standpoint to hard-working uplines if the majority of these distributors are nothing more than “Upline, build my business for me!” non-producers; which is rather unfortunate, because this is dead weight that could be building its dreams along with everyone else, but who desire quick fixes for their problems. Once again we come back to the conventional employer approach: if you don’t do your job or do not meet performance and quality expectations, you end up at your local job service. It’s not any different here, nor should it be. These considerations are important especially if you’re building your business on a budget.

When you make the sound business decision to dedicate yourself to cultivating and closing network marketing leads who share your financial success goals and work ethics, half the battle of building your business is already won because the odds are strongly in your favor that these priceless individuals will take the time, effort, and financial commitment required for learning, and hopefully ultimately succeeding with, the business. As such, you would be secure in the knowledge that they’ll be going out there and doing it far more efficiently, successfully, and profitably than those who were recruited with the highly undesirable “sponsor everybody you can get your hands on!” approach. This is not a social club. It is a business and you must run it as such, or you will stay confined to the Dilbert cube for the rest of your working life. It’s your choice; no one can make it for you.

Conventional Businesses Don’t Do It, Why Should You?

Conventional businesses don’t hire everyone they can get their hands on. Positions are left open until the most qualified are found to fill them. It should be the same in Network Marketing. In MLM, however, they don’t necessarily have to have industry experience to qualify; they simply have to have the work ethic, the willingness to learn new things, and the burning desire to make it work, along with a reasonable amount of disposable monthly income they can comfortably commit to their network marketing venture, for at least a year, until the opportunity starts to pay for itself. As long as you’ve chosen the right company to partner with, then this is a very likely potential outcome for most involved.

I threw out all that corporate dictatorship “talk to who upline tells you to and be civil about it!” nonsense quite a while ago, and have committed myself to attracting like-minded people on the rare occurrences that I work opportunities that I truly believe in. My approach may not secure 100 people a month (why would I want to overwork myself anyway?), but if I succeed in securing one to three committed individuals per month that does what I do, then as far as I am concerned I have won and my MLM business will eventually prosper, and my downline’s businesses should too.

Simply, it’s better to have a small qualified highly productive profitable network marketing organization whose successful members are fattening their and your bank accounts, than a large unqualified completely unproductive losing network marketing organization whose failing members are experiencing nothing but pain, frustration, misery, and financial loss. So forget the unqualified and unmotivated, and conduct your recruiting activities the right way by focusing on qualified network marketing leads instead of duds.
